An InBody body composition analysis is a quick, non-invasive scan that measures your weight in terms of muscle, fat, and water.
How It Works
- Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA): The machine sends a safe, painless electrical current through your body via hand and foot electrodes.
- Tissue Resistance: Muscle contains high water content and lets current pass quickly; fat creates more resistance.
- Segmental Breakdown: It calculates your composition for each arm, each leg, and your trunk in under 60 seconds.
Key Metrics Provided
- Skeletal Muscle Mass: The actual muscle you have built.
- Percent Body Fat: Your ratio of fat tissue to total weight.
- Total Body Water: Intracellular and extracellular hydration levels.
- Visceral Fat Level: Fat stored around your internal organs.
- Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR): Calories burned at rest daily.
SAFETY: Do not test with a pacemaker, implanted defibrillator, or other implanted electronic/life-support device.
Tell staff if you are pregnant or may be pregnant, have a metal implant/prosthesis, or cannot stand safely for 1-2 minutes.
