The McDowell Wellness Center is excited to announce our next Get Moving Challenge, set to take place in the Spring of 2023. This is a free, six-week challenge designed to promote physical activity and wellness for individuals of all ages and fitness levels. Participants can join as individuals or form teams to support and encourage one another.

This year, the focus of the challenge will be on heart health and all of the lifestyle factors that contribute to heart health, including but not limited to physical activity.

This year there will be a health fair to kick-off the challenge on Sunday, April 16, from 2-4 pm at McDowell Wellness Center. This will include blood pressure screenings as well as BMI calculations and stress level screens. Information on heart health will also be available. Students from Boyle County High School HOSA club are joining in the event as well as EMH professional staff including an RN and registered dietitian to answer your questions. There will be prizes and healthy snacks and we will be offering a membership special for non-members who attend the event. The special is any membership for 2-1/2 months (through June 30) for $50.

Throughout the challenge, prizes will be awarded to participants who submit their minutes of exercise. Additionally, all who complete the challenge will receive a complimentary Get Moving t-shirt, made possible by the support of local businesses.

To register for the challenge, participants can fill out the online registration form or print and return the registration form (below) to the McDowell Wellness Center. Click here to access Instructions for the challenge.

We are also seeking prize donations and t-shirt sponsors to support the challenge. Please visit our website for more information on how to contribute.

Participants can track their minutes using the provided log and submit them weekly through this form, email, or by dropping them off at the center. We encourage everyone to join us in this exciting opportunity to improve our health and well-being.
